As a family owned and operated motel, we understand what a difference attention to little details can make and want you to feel at home with us. From our friendly service, to spacious rooms fitted the latest mod-cons, to relaxed check-in and check-out times, the moment you arrive you’ll experience the Cattle Camp motel difference. Whether you’re a holidaying family, FIFO worker or business rep, Cattle Camp has the perfect accommodation and amenities to suit you.
Since taking over management of the Cattle Camp motel, our goal has been to marry city convenience with country peace and serenity. We believe you should not have to sacrifice comfort and convenience for a slice of country life. This belief underpins everything we do at the Cattle Camp motel. To reflect this, each of our motel units, set against the glorious backdrop of country Queensland, are equipped with all the mod-cons you would expect from city accommodation (such as: swimming pool, Pay TV, WiFi, etc.).
At the Cattle Camp motel, we are committed to providing you with an authentic country experience, whilst not forgoing the luxuries of modern life. This goal is at the forefront of everything we do. From our courteous, friendly staff, to our restaurant’s country-style meals, to our old Queenslander inspired rooms – we know the moment you arrive, the cares of world will melt away.
There are so many ways to enjoy your stay with us. Why not enjoy a leisurely evening meal at our licensed restaurant, or spend an afternoon by the pool? If you want to venture further, Taroom has so much to offer.
In the Central Queensland Sandstone Belt lies Expedition National Park. It is a sprawling park of rugged gorges, spectacular views and remote campsites, strewn with wildflowers and unique wildlife. This area protects a wealth of Aboriginal cultural sites, remnants of pastoral heritage and locations named by Purissian explorer, Ludwig Leichhardt.
Located just 15 kilometres north of Taroom, is Palm Tree Creek. Palms unique to the upper Dawson River Catchment, such as the Livistonia palm are found here. This rare plant life has gained Palm Tree Creek worldwide recognition.
Taroom is also home to several Heritage Listed sites, including:
- Hornet Bank Road: Fraser family grave site and memorial, Hornet Bank
